- Custom insoles and orthotics | FOOT CARE
Custom insoles and orthotics We explain about custom insoles and orthotics here See also: Practitioner information Book treatment Custom insoles and orthotics In addition to our foot health services, we also provide assessments for insoles and orthotics Frequently asked questions Do you make custom orthotics/insoles? Yes, we use FootBalance in addition to a bio mechanical assessment to get a digital scan of your foot type, alignment and to gauge an understanding of any possible issues. Our insoles are 100% custom made for your individual feet based on the information provided by the FootBalance assessment to ensure they provide the correct support based on the unique contours of your feet. This will then help to re-adjust your natural stance to improve your overall body posture and prevent injury. It only takes 10 minutes for these insoles to be made for you. Whether you want your insoles for your heels, boots or sandals, that’s no problem - FootBalance custom insoles are designed to fit all types of footwear, providing you with the perfect custom fit. We have so much confidence in our FootBalance insoles that we will provide a full refund on all FootBalance custom insoles within 30 days of purchase if you’re not completely happy. It sounds minor, but foot misalignment can cause problems in other areas of the body, including back pain, muscle and joint pain, injuries and other foot-related problems - both now and in later life. Good foot alignment provides a strong natural foundation at the base of your body, so is really important. Our innovative in-store patented FootBalance technology analyses your foot and arch type whilst getting a more detailed understanding of your body alignment. It then collects this data to produce totally customised insoles that support and cushion your feet, providing the foundation and balance your body requires. These insoles are proven to prevent injury and help to relieve pain in other areas of your body. Plantar Fasciitis - Inflammation of the ligament running along the bottom of the foot towards the heel is called plantar fasciitis. It causes pain along the heel and/or arch of the foot. Our FootBalance custom orthotics reduces the strain on the bottom of your feet, helping the ligament to heel and preventing plantar fasciitis from reoccurring. Shin Splints - Repetitive activity and stress can cause the muscle and tissues around the shin area to become inflamed which results in pain. By helping ensure your foot is properly aligned, therefore improving overall alignment and reducing stress to the shin, our FootBalance custom orthotics help to reduce your chances of getting shin splints. Runner’s Knee - Friction in the hip or knee joint caused by running or climbing stairs. There are many factors that can cause this including overpronation. Our FootBalance custom insoles can reduce this painful friction by providing your feet with the proper support they need. What is a bio mechanical? A bio mechanical assessment is an examination of the lower limb. It looks for any underlying causes of foot, ankle, knee, hip and back pain. It normally takes around 1 hour and is carried out by your podiatrist. FootBalance available in selected stores. Bio mechanical assessments available in all stores. Book a 30 minute bio mechanical assessment [without FootBalance] Book a 60 minute bio mechanical assessment [with FootBalance scan] We also stock a large and varied range of over the counter orthotics and insoles in store. - Practitioner information | FOOT CARE
Practitioner information We explain about our practitioners here See also: Paying for your treatment Book treatment Practitioner information Private prescription costs Price match guarantee Enquiry form Clinic locations What is a practitioner? At FOOT CARE we use the term 'practitoner' as a term to describe members of our team who provide services across our clinics. Our practitioner team consist of 'Foot health Practitioners' or[FHP's], Chiropodists and Podiatrists and student Podiatrists. Usually throughout the summer months we utilise experienced pedicurists and manicurists too. We have an experienced clinical Podiatry manager that oversees all areas of our clinical team and regularly provides 1-2-1 meetings and training events with our Practitioner team to keep them current and up-to-date. We also utilise a growing network of 'Locum' Podiatrists; in the unfortunate event your 'usual' practitioner is absent or under the weather. All of our Locums are expected to provide the same level of service as our usual practitioner team members. If you wish to apply to become one of our locums, please contact us here. Why do we have different types of practitioner? At FOOT CARE, we like to try to keep our pricing structure as affordable as possible, we regularly check similar businesses to see their rates to see how we can improve on ours. We also offer a price match guarantee. If you find a like for like service with the same practitioner type providing the same service, we will better it and provide an additional 10% discount. Additionally, having a number of different practitioner types means we can provide more services, gauge further , and second opinions to better the service we provide to you. Research has previously shown us that often what can be classed as 'routine or maintaining' foot care can be much more expensive 'than we feel' on the face of it, ought to be. By utilising a number of different practitioners, across a network of types we can provide a fair and affordable rate, whilst still providing quality foot health to our existing and new patients. Price match terms here. Do I need a consultation? Ideally , a consultation is the best way to proceed forward . Although, you can choose from a range of our treatment options available on t he bookings page. Choosing to have a consultation ahead of treatment is the best course of action to take if you have a number of different foot problems. Allowing time to discuss any worries or concerns you may have with your foot health, ensuring that the best course of action can be taken for your care plan, spending time directly as a 1-2-1 also ascertains that you are utilising the best type of practitioner for your needs. Consultations, sometimes also find other foot ailments that you may otherwise have not noticed, such as an infection or an ulcer. As standard with our consultations: Privacy and comfort In-depth assessment of your foot health Thorough foot examination 1-2-1 with the practitioner Pulses and circulatory check The practitioner will complete assessment paperwork with you and medical history during your appointment. A review for onward referral where applicable. Results of examination, pulses and circulatory check can be onward sent to your gp. Your practitioner will advise the best course of action to take in regard to any foot ailments found, the practitioner will then rebook you as appropriate and advise of time-scales for treatment. Unfortunately, it isn’t currently possible to view what stock is available online and you would need to contact a store directly. Do you sell online? We no longer sell items online. This may be changed in the future and the site will reflect this accordingly. Unfortunately, we made the decision to remove the e-commerce [online shop] element from our site in early 2024. Due to the mixed and varied nature of a lot of the products we stock across a large number of different suppliers, it was felt best from a streamlining, and stock management point of view that we kept our stock locally and in our retail stores. Do you take telephone orders? Yes, we can take an order over the phone, if it's an item we stock and subject postage and packaging. What kind of brands do you stock?
